The Role
As PR Executive you will be responsible for creating engaging content for press releases, articles, blogs, thought leadership and social media content. You will manage the social media content and channels for your company focused on the content creation and engagement side, adjusting tone of voice to suit different platforms. You will be the main point of contact with the press, selling in your press releases to the media to gain maximum coverage for your company. You will also be involved in event management, arranging press days and assisting your manager with crisis communications. Ultimately you will be responsible for the reputation of your company and their brand. You will work really closely with the PR Manager in implementing the overall PR strategy.
A PR Executive will either sit within the PR and communications team, reporting into a PR Manager, or in smaller companies, they will sit within the marketing team.

You will be a people person and thrive in an environment that focuses on relationships. You will enjoy meeting and building relationships with the media and be able to build trust.
As PR Executive you will have the following responsibilities:
  • Devise creative public relations strategies that fit company profile
  • Develop effective PR plans using appropriate strategies and tactics
  • Use a variety of channels (TV, press, internet etc.) to maximize company exposure
  • Liaise with marketing professionals to ensure consistency in promoting corporate image
  • Arrange for interviews or public speaking events and construct press releases
  • Advise company on handling sensitive public issues to preserve reputation
  • Assess opportunities for sponsorship and other partnerships and manage relations
