Typically, the main and key elements of a Product Owner are to identify, create and take viable digital/software products and service propositions from concept to market. This type of role requires someone with a strategic and commercial mindset who is a bit of a problem solver and can develop a full product life cycle.
This type of role is normally at a senior level reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the Head of Software or Digital.
This type of role would suit someone with experience in product development and previous product ownership responsibilities and looking to develop and progress within a product development role.
As a Product Owner, the role would often encompass the following responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of the product proposition to include P&L, pricing, and the construction and communication of a clear business case for a go-to-market strategy.
  • Implement and drive market analysis to develop and provide market requirements in response to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Develop and foster close relationships with all key market stakeholders to ensure collaboration across teams and validate product strategy and road map.
  • Collaborate effectively with R&D and other relevant teams within the business to ensure consistent execution of product plans that result in product delivery that is both on time and within budget.
  • Ensure and manage the profitability of each product vision
  • Own the product launch and execution strategy of all products including ideation, orchestration, program management, implementation and managing a cross-functional team
