Typically, as an SEO Manager, you would usually be responsible for the strategic management and delivery of SEO activity on and off-site, as well as technical SEO. This role would also be tasked with undertaking regular SEO audits and reporting and analysising SEO performance, whilst recommending and undertaking continual improvement. Knowledge of key SEO tools such as SEMrush, MOZ, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs as well as experience in Google Analytics and Google Search Console would be required.
Depending on the structure of the digital/marketing team, this role could be a stand-alone and responsible for strategy as well as implementation, or working with an SEO Executive to support the creation and implementation of activity.
This type of position would be suited to someone already working within an SEO role and looking to progress their career and gain more exposure and awareness across all areas of SEO
As an SEO Manager, the role would often encompass the following responsibilities:
  • Strategically planning and implementing SEO activity
  • Analysing campaigns and data through Google Analytics and Google Search Console
  • Optimising campaign activity, increasing brand awareness, user engagement and conversion
  • Working with the marketing team, especially the PPC team, to ensure integrated and optimised activity
