Helping students enter the industry at Cheltenham Design Festival

What an amazing day Emma Head and I recently had, meeting creative undergraduates from the University of Gloucestershire.

The day was intended to offer inspiration and advice for anyone pursuing a creative career, and Cheltenham Design Foundation pulled together practicing designers, creative agencies and career advisers (us!) in an interactive afternoon session.

Emma and I shared our knowledge of the creative industry and offered advice on how to approach the job search on a practical level; everything from how to identify your place in the industry (in-house, agency, creative, technical….), where to search, and how to stand out.

The students were engaged and asked some great questions in the Q&A session, and we and the other speakers received some really positive feedback.

Hopefully, we will be asked back next year, to support the foundation and students once more.​
