Case Study 1 - The benefits to our candidate-driven approach and close client relationships
This successful placement is a great example of the value we place on proactively attracting and meeting candidates in readiness for their perfect next role. Our impartial qualification of candidates means we get to know the truth in what they are looking for, thereby when an opportunity comes along, we can assess the fit based not only on skills and experience but against their genuine interest.
This brief came from a great client who we have worked with and got to know very well over the years. We were approached by a member of the international Brand Account Management team, who needed an Account Executive to support their growth, with the management and workflow of projects from their UK Head Office.
Working exclusively for the client, we took an initial brief and got cracking with our full recruitment service, which included consulting on a realistic brief against a very tight budget.
The very start of our candidate sourcing process is a thorough search of our Talent Hub (our database). In this instance, we approached a star candidate who had been met by one of the BTB consultants. On paper, this candidate didn’t match the brief exactly (someone with demonstrable agency client service experience) but we really felt a strong cultural fit, coupled with good transferable skills and an amazing work ethic. Given the budget was tight in attracting the obvious talent, we introduced the client to our candidate. And, with the trust that has built up between ourselves and the client, they were happy to take our judgment, agreeing the candidate could be a great potential fit.
We were delighted with this outcome and our candidate sailed through all three interviews, standing out above the other more obvious candidates. This subsequently resulted in a great offer which was happily accepted.
Since placement, we’ve heard nothing but brilliant feedback from all who have worked with our candidate. This really demonstrates how trust between client and recruitment consultant is so important; and how proactively meeting candidates face to face and getting to know the essence of them and what they are genuinely interested in, can really deliver.
Case Study 2 - After months of our client searching directly, we found the perfect candidate quickly and efficiently
This new client relationship emerged when a previous candidate for many years came to us as a client from their new position as the Head of Marketing. They hadn’t forgotten the service they’d received as a past candidate and trusted our brand and approach would deliver for them.
They were having challenges recruiting themselves for the role of a Multimedia Designer and wanted to work with us exclusively to service the role. They knew our reach would attract the best in the market and quickly, so wouldn’t need to engage multiple recruitment agencies.
The client took the time to visit our offices and provide a thorough briefing on the role, responsibilities, cultural fit and expectations so that we had all we needed to source the right candidate.
The role had many nuances - a candidate who had a strong mixed media portfolio, client/ stakeholder management experience, professionalism to work within a corporate environment but would also be a great cultural fit in a more creative and collaborative marketing team.
We got to work, undertaking targeted searches using our database, LinkedIn premium account and access to CVs online across leading job portals. We also advertised on all our portals and set up watchdogs to ensure we were alerted to any new candidates entering the market. Within a week we attracted the perfect candidate. This Multimedia Designer truly fit the bill, with a brilliant personality and attitude to boot. After a robust two-stage qualifying process against the brief, we presented the candidate to the
client, who quickly responded to set up an interview.
We worked closely with both parties throughout the interview process to ensure all were aligned in expectations and outcomes which enabled a quick, efficient and pleasant experience for all involved.
Following a successful 2nd interview, inclusive of a task and presentation, the client was happy to offer our candidate, who was equally as happy to accept.
We’ve since received brilliant feedback from both parties, who have been working successfully in remote conditions throughout lockdown.
