Company Sector: Engineering / Location: West Midlands

Background:

After amazing growth and ambitious plans, this company needed to employ its first Marketing Manager and build a team to realize their growth plans. It was important to them to work with a specialist recruiter who could help them plan who and what they needed and invited us to pitch for their business.

Approach:

After a great meeting, we were awarded the project.

The relationship started with the Marketing Manager role, and after consultation, a realistic, compelling and honest brief was agreed and we set about looking for the right person. This role was about defining a brand strategy and designing and then managing new communications. Most of the comms would be to support the consultative sales team with their sales collateral, email communications and exhibition and conference collateral. We were looking for someone strong in B2B, with experience developing brand guidelines, and turning the technical and complex into digestible and engaging content. So a real blend of strategy, planning and execution. We also needed to find someone who would be happy with such a multi-faceted role, but with the leadership experience to build a team. We used every channel available to us to deliver the right person. This included exploring our dbase of active candidates, social posting to our network of over 40,000 1st line contacts, Linkedin targeted advertising and searching for all candidates open to opportunities, advertising across job portals, setting up watchdogs for people new to market and running a candidate get candidate campaign. We quickly filtered our way through a large response, to qualify and introduce three people. One stood out and was quickly hired.

A few months later, and this candidate had made such an impact that they were ready for a Content Exec to take on some of the execution and delivery of projects. Having got to know this new client and knowing their culture, we quickly delivered 3 great options and the right person was taken on.

Client relationship:

Having won the pitch, we are now enjoying a great relationship and our client is delighted that the new team is making the impact that was needed to deliver on their growth plans.
