Beyond The Book has teamed up with The Brookson Group to give our freelancers access to a FREE lunchtime webinar entitled 'Helping You Prepare for IR35 and Beyond' on Thursday 18th February at 12:00pm, to discuss IR35 and the changes in legislation coming into effect on the 6th April 2021.

The Brookson Group is a tech-enabled professional services platform offering accountancy, legal, tax, and payroll, for the entire flexible supply chain. With a dedicated in-house legal team, Brookson has spent the last 20 years supporting contractors with IR35, and more recently, have been using their wealth of knowledge to help educate and support businesses in their IR35 preparations.

With only weeks to go until the private sector IR35 Off-Payroll changes are set to come into force, there is an ever-growing need to understand the legislation and start preparing. We are big advocates of helping and educating wherever possible and, with IR35, striving to provide clarity to what may be confusing legislation. Therefore, it will be an easy-to-understand webinar with the opportunity to raise questions.

The seminar will be hosted on Thursday, 18th February 2021 at 12:00pm, with the aim of it lasting for 60 minutes, including a Q&A session. There will be no cameras on the attendees, so you can sit and listen while you enjoy your lunch!

The webinar is specifically aimed at freelancers and contractors, and we are aiming to cover:

  • Working on multiple assignments (Inside and Outside IR35 in the same tax year)

  • Should you close your limited company?

  • How to avoid unnecessary tax on directors’ fees

  • Does being a sole trader mean that you are unaffected by IR35?

  • Insurance: What is not included and what to look out for

  • Liquidation Vs retained funds

  • New technology to handle multiple employment status

We hope this FAQ Document helps to give a baseline IR35 understanding.

Should you already have any questions you would like answered by the experts, please submit them to freelance@btbpeople.co.uk.
