This nationally renowned company with a strong heritage is looking for a Digital Designer to join their talented in-house creative team. Working alongside their brand and marketing teams, you will create and craft beautiful digital design and content across their brand, much of which is online focused from the two large websites that they run as well as apps and creating digital content for their social media channels which may include some video editing and motion design work. Whilst currently working fully remotely, once they return to the office, they will be offering a hybrid remote model of 2/3 days onsite/remote. Their offices are based in Bristol, just off the M5 and there is plenty of parking. This is a permanent, full-time role and the salary on offer is £35-40k, depending upon experience.
You will be a Digital Designer who can take a rough scamp from the Creative Director and craft it into a beautifully designed creative piece, equally, you are happy coming up with your own conceptual designs as you will be involved with creating and crafting digital experiences across various media, including designing across:
Responsive websites, social media, digital display banners, internal communications collateral and eCRM campaigns. Currently, 20% of the role entails some video editing and motion design; they are happy if you don't have as much experience on this side to help you develop (although some skills are needed), equally if you have a good amount of experience across video and motion, this part of the role could grow to make it more of a focus within the role. This brand currently mainly uses motion and video to create digital banners across their social channels as well as making some moving assets for their website.
You will take the wireframes/prototypes from their internal UX Designer and design and develop them into fully designed websites (essentially skinning the UX files for the UI design)
You can use the Adobe Suite with ease and have used either Adobe XD (or Sketch/Figma/Invision) and ideally some experience within Adobe After Effects. Any experience within HTML is advantageous but not expected.
You work well in collaboration with a team, are able to at times work on your own concepts, but equally as happy taking a rough scamp/sketch and making the designs your own, crafting your designs through to final production stage.
Whilst this is an internal creative team, they run very much like an agency and the pace of work and quality of work produced is of agency standard and most of the creative team are all ex-agency, so the work that they create is beautifully designed and crafted.
You are confident in your abilities as a Digital Designer and enjoy using different software to help execute your ideas and you thrive in a busy environment, whilst being able to work under your own steam.
You like to question briefs and challenge ideas and thought processes and are proactive in your approach. You can confidently present your work to both your peers and senior stakeholders within the business, explaining your approach and rationale behind your designs.
You enjoy solving problems and have a curious mind. You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in design details and ensuring that the visual design consistency of the brand is adhered to across all channels.
You enjoy collaborating and working as part of a team and are not scared to come up with suggestions for new or better ways of working.
This internal creative team has forged a strong working relationship and it is important for them that this Designer fits well into the team, and enjoys a fun and collaborative working environment where you are encouraged to have your say and equally you can take feedback onboard positively.
As a business, they are going from strength to strength and there is scope to grow and develop within the team. If you like the sound of all of the above, please do get in touch with me as soon as you can.
