This role is based in Birmingham and commutable via Solihull, Birmingham, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Stafford, Warwick, Leamington, Coventry to name a few. The Role
You will have the ability to switch between backend/frontend development with ease and also be able to develop features quickly. Solutions-driven and with an eye for detail, you will be a natural self-starter with a genuine passion for writing code.
Your day to day activities will include:
Web Application development including maintenance
API development and integrations
General ad hoc technical support
Developing new features for existing systems
Maintaining, modifying and improving existing codebases
Ideas generation and project scoping
Technical design and documentation
About You
Minimum 1-2 years practical experience which will need to be demonstrated
PHP and a solid understanding of MVC frameworks
MySQL
Frontend skills using HTML, CSS and JavaScript
Experience extending and theming CMS's such as WordPress
Version Control using Git
Some exposure to Linux servers and basic CLI
Any practical experience of the following would be a distinct advantage:
CakePHP (v2 and/or v3/v4)
Javascript frameworks/libraries such as React/Vue/Angular etc
CSS Frameworks such as SASS/LESS
Mobile App development
You should enjoy a varied workload and not mind being a bit of an 'all-rounder' with a proactive approach to developing the best solutions. You should also be flexible in order to work and liaise with some of their international offices where required. In addition to this, you will need to have excellent communication skills, be collaborative and naturally super organised.
