Cheltenham is located on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds and is known as a spa town due to the discovery of its mineral spring in 1716. Built in the Regency style, Cheltenham is said to be "the most complete Regency town in England".

A hive of activity and cultural events, the town hosts several annual festivals, including the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival, the Cheltenham Science Festival, the Cheltenham Music Festival, the Cheltenham Cricket Festival, and the Cheltenham Food & Drink Festival. It is also famous for its horse-racing, with Cheltenham racecourse playing host to the Gold Cup which is held every March.

As well as its beautiful buildings, the town has lots of green spaces; Cheltenham has many magnificent parks and gardens, all with some historic interest.
