Hertfordshire or 'Herts' as it is known by locals adjoins Greater London to the south and can be reached within 20 minutes by train from the capital. It is a commuter heavy county due to its good transport links and easy access to London.
Hertfordshire county comprises 10 districts: East Hertfordshire, North Hertfordshire, Three Rivers, and Welwyn Hatfield; the boroughs of Broxbourne, Dacorum, Hertsmere, Stevenage, and Watford; and the city of St. Albans.
The county is home to the first garden cities Letchworth and Welwyn. It also has two major international airports Luton and Stansted.
Hertfordshire is recognised as a great place to bring up a family, with over 525 schools plus a huge range of places to walk, cycle and play in the countryside.
