Social Media Manager

Our client is an award-winning, independent creative agency with a reputation for bold thinking and delivering impactful work for ambitious global brands, across multiple channels. They are looking to appoint a Social Media Manager on a permanent basis, offering a salary of £33k - £35k (DOE). Based in Birmingham, this role operates on a four-day working week, with 3 days in-office offered, allowing you to enjoy an excellent work-life balance while working in a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment.

The Company

Our client is an award-winning, independent creative agency with a reputation for bold thinking and delivering impactful work for ambitious global brands. Combining strategic insight with creative excellence, they develop campaigns that build brands, challenge convention and create meaningful connections with audiences across multiple channels.

The Role

This agency is looking for a Social Media Manager to help them build something new: a full social media offer for one of their key clients in the energy drinks category, with the ambition to grow it into a bigger service across the agency. This is not a “make a few posts and hope for likes” role. Their in-house studio will support with design, motion, video and campaign assets.

What they need, is someone who knows how to make social work in the wild: publishing, community management, reporting, optimisation, testing, learning and keeping the whole back end running properly. You’ll play a key role in launching and managing social for two challenger energy drink brands across both consumer and trade channels. That means helping the brands show up in culture, build community and use LinkedIn as a proper sales tool - giving the sales team content, proof points and conversation starters for wholesale, convenience, retail and trade customers.

There’s also a secondary opportunity to help shape how the agency, and their senior team, show up on social. From LinkedIn content and profile-building ideas to helping package, edit and promote their personal podcast, you’ll help them practise what they preach.

Working alongside an experienced in-house creative team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Managing social media channels across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Planning and managing content calendars, scheduling and publishing content
  • Leading community management, responding to comments and messages while protecting brand reputation
  • Monitoring performance, analysing data and producing actionable insights and recommendations
  • Developing and implementing test-and-learn strategies to continually improve engagement
  • Working closely with creative and account teams to ensure content is platform-ready and aligned with campaign objectives
  • Supporting influencer and creator activity where required
  • Creating LinkedIn content and sales enablement materials to support commercial growth and engage wholesale, retail and trade audiences
  • Helping to shape the agency's own social media presence and support thought leadership initiatives

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience managing multiple social media platforms within an agency or fast-paced brand environment
  • A strong understanding of social media strategy, platform trends and audience engagement
  • Experience using analytics and reporting tools to measure campaign performance and optimise content
  • Excellent copywriting and communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • A collaborative approach and confidence working with creative, marketing and commercial teams
  • A passion for social media, emerging trends and creating content that delivers measurable results
  • Experience ideally to include consumer/FMCG brand experience

What's in it for you?

Alongside a salary of up to £35k, you'll benefit from:

  • Four-day working week (Monday to Thursday)
  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Pension scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Life insurance
  • Ongoing learning and professional development opportunities
  • The chance to play a key role in shaping an exciting and growing area of the business

If you're looking for a role you can own, and an opportunity to developer your career, as this new Social Media function grows, we'd love to hear from you.
